You cant do a 360 degree turn around in 2 months unless you're related to Anne Heche

Hello mga friendships... just wanted to share the makulay na buhay ng mga kamag anak ko....
My cuz Ate Pin aka Ate Jen... ung binibisita ko sa San Andres nuon para kuhanan ng baon ko.... she's been a lesbian for as long as Ive known her in her adult life.... (mga 15????) 38 na sha.... she has been in this serious relationship with her Dadeng, Janet for 9 years, as in... sha ung reason kung bakit nya iniwan ang Ireland... they were supposed to get married once they have migrated here sa States... then two months ago... her aunt died (sa side ng dad nila, mag kamag anak kme because our moms are sisters) she went home (hoping for a mana????), met with her HS friends, next thing I knew... she was getting married to a former classmate, Carlo... So ayun... January 19 ang wedding nila.... Bongga diba....???? I just want to make sure she's going thru with it....
Mama Connie and Papa Steve are celebrating their 25th wedding anniv too on Jan 15 at sa Tagay tay rin, so if this falters... me backup wedding... tama ba namang ganito ang thinking ko... basta we'll see... I need to talk to my cuz....hehehehehe...k, back to work na me... happy saturday....

Post with your name as the sender

Naku, nawindang naman ako nung nag-post si joy hehehe anyways, I'm testing this option, hope it works, para malaman kung sino ang nag-post.

Ok here's how it works:
1.) Create an account with Google (Gmail) I can send you an invite if you want to.
2.) Then send me an email with your new Gmail address, I will invite you to become one of the authors of the Bamboos blog (or perhaps you can invite yourself since alam nyo naman ang username and password nung blog, but then again, being humans and a BWK, you would rather have someone do it for you diba? )
3.) After that, you will have two (2) options for posting
- thru the Blogger Dashboard
- thru email (make a unique email address, wherein, all emails sent to this unique address will be posted in the blog)
4.) From there, your posts will be labeled with your identity

Medyo toxic but hey, it comes with the times. And, if you find a simpler way then by all means, use it!

Postings

Pwede po ba kung magpopost eh magsabi kung sino sila instead "bwk" or ":-)" lang nakalagay... Nakakalito po eh.

Happy Birthday greetings na rin kina Nanette and Nonz.

Regards to all!

Joy

Finally a Job Offer!

After a month of searching for a job and having one misadventure after another here in Singapore (I won't recount my other mis' anymore, masisira lang todo credibility ko), I finally received my very first job offer! It was sent through email late this afternoon and as I was with Glenn doing our mall tour and catching up with this and that (syempre may kasabay na pot/yosi session), and checking the price for Gan's iPod Touch (last week it was 13"macbook, the previous week SE P1i, Wii and i cant remember what else! PorDios Gan, make up your mind! Mali, rather, make up Ning's mind! Wehehehe), I got to open my email only a couple of hours ago and to my surprise, there waiting for me was the job offer I've been praying for more than a week now. Grabe! Now that it's right in front of my eyes, na-tense akong i-open yung document! Man! Sobrang tense that I actually felt chilled! Excited but at the same time scared, more scared actually. I guess it's because this means that I now have to face the reality of my efforts and prayers, and not just dream about what could be. This is it. No more bumming around. Back to the daily work grind. Ok, fine, I told myself I can do this!

I opened the job offer and it was 8 pages long! They sure have a lot of stipulations and it seems that for the next two years, I'm going to have to work myself to the bone! As in! Oh well, as they say, be careful for what you wish for cause you're going to get even more! Hehehe. I just need to sign the contract and email it back to them within 5 days and their immigration people will be calling me shortly. One condition of my employment though is immigration has to approve my visa application, well of course! duh!

But to be completely honest, for a split of a second after reading the contract, I actually thought 'why not wait for greener pasture and forego this offer'. Ha! As if! Thank God I don't have grand illusions of myself! Tomorrow, after my interview with a Sg employer (I will still continue to apply for work here until I know for sure that my visa for OZ has been approved, just to make sure I have a fallback), I will sign the contract and send it back to the OZ employer.

So, after a month looking for a job in Singapore, I finally received a job offer from Australia! The (mis)adventure continues, but this time, in Australia. I just hope everything goes according to plan; that I pass the medical exam (wala naman ako AIDS or TB kaya I guess my chances looks good) and immigration approves my visa application.

Wow! Life sure is full of surprises! Thank you Lord!

More Adventures

After disapproving my application online last Saturday, Singapore (yesterday) gave me 2 months extension on my single entry visit pass and 1 year multiple entry visit pass, if i wanted one (with medical and additional moolah for them of course). You'll probably say, "What the @$^$^#$^$^#$?! " Nyihihi, I don't care anymore what happened, all I know is I that I'm going to Sentosa Island to visit the underwater world on Sept. 22, it will be Weng's (my friend here in Sg) going away gift to me. That's one of the reasons I needed to extend my visa, i'm not leaving without having checked out the man-made underwater world of Singapore. Don't really know how bad I'll feel after seeing those magnificent sea creatures caged like that.

So now, on with the (mis)adventures in Singapore, at least for the next two weeks.

to be continued......................

The (Mis)adventures of (Rin)TinTin

Here I go again, making my life difficult and full of crazy antics. I entered Singapore last August 12, 2007 and was given a 30 day Social Visit Pass (although I have an EPEC, I still need to go to immigration to request for a longer stay). Guess what?! I forgot to file for an extension and my visit pass expires on Tuesday! Shit! So panic si ako! Pero dahil hi-tech na daw ang Singapore and given that they granted me an Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate (EPEC) valid for 2 years, no sweat, I can file for an extension online. Thank goodness! Saved by the net! Still, just to be sure, I woke up around 530AM today (which is an ungodly hour for me as I usually wake up at 9AM, hehe), just so I can be one of the first to arrive at the immigration office. Information desk told me I just need to wait for reply to my online application, ayos! It's lakwatsa time!

There's a huge, mega-sale at the Expo, 40 minutes away from nearest SMRT station. Grabe yung sale, 50-70% discount on books, clothes, food, etc (Gan sorry, di kasama gadgets)! So in typical Christine fashion, I got carried away buying cheap books and what-have-you's! Ayun! I went home carrying 3 very big, bulging and heavy plastic bags! And again, being the thrifty person that I am, I took the SMRT, where I had to transfer 3 times, instead of taking a cab kahit magkan-kubakuba na ako sa pagbitbit ng pinamili ko. Around 600-900 php din kaya aabutin pag nag-taxi ako noh! Haler! The weird thing was, halos everyone was looking at me and my beautiful grocery bags! Pero 900 bucks for a cab?! Ugh! Di talaga kaya ng konsensya ko! As in! Huuuuwwwwaaaahhhhh!

Finally, I arrived at the flat where i'm staying at around 4pm. Yey! I can finally have lunch na tinake-out ko pa sa Burger King, walang upuan kaya had no choice but to take it home! So I dumped all my shopping bags on the floor, booted up my laptop and ate my burger while waiting to connect to the net. Hmmmm...... May job offer na kaya ako, I wonder. Ninuninuninuninu...... Nagconnect na rin after a few seconds (3.4mbps internet speed so feeling hi-tech ako kasi i'm only used to 50kbps back home), bilis! I opened my yahoo mail and wow! May reply na agad from immigration! Here's what the email said:

"Dear Sir/Madam,

After careful consideration, we regret to inform you that your application is not successful. You are required to leave Singapore on/before the expiry date of your current social visit pass.

Note:
Overstaying is an immigration offence. If you overstay, you may be subjected to a composition fine or prosecution in court.

(NOTE: THIS IS A COMPUTER GENERATED EMAIL AND DOES NOT REQUIRE A SIGNATURE. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL.)"

Please excuse the following language but I think given my present situation, I have a right to it.

FUCKING SHIT!

santos family's new home

try ko lang kung kaya kong mag Blog-Blog... sabi ko nga kay Gan, ibang level na ito... email, sms and mms lang ang nasa resume ko! hehehe

ito ang new home naming mag anak... took me a month and a half to finish the interior renovations ng bahay na ito. mega luma kasi kaya kinailangan ng full reneovation... i never worked so hard in my entire life!!! nag aral ako para hindi mag manual labor, yun pala gagawin ko pa rin! hehehe

Lessons learned

This is my 4th week in Singapore and so far, I'm still very far from my goal. Oh well, guess I'm being taught a lesson in patience and faith. Honestly, I don't have both in abundance but when you're at a stage in your life where the road ahead is full of twist and turns, you learn to bide your time and trust that God will guide you to the right path.

Being on your own is not an easy task, there are days where you appreciate the silence and being able to think and ponder about everything and nothing, but there are also days when the silence screams at you and makes you a little crazy. The most difficult part is when you remember the loved ones and the laughter you left back home. Laughter that you can only hear in your mind and faces that sometimes merge into one telling you to come home (sniff sniff).

This is my 4th week living as i've never lived before, on my own. I guess God is teaching me a lesson in happiness, you can't know what true joy is unless you've known what it is to be lonely.
